Party! Crowd sourcing style. The app is the baby of Neil Desh, N.Y.
The idea is an organizer registers an event (pending approval from the admin.),
the new event is notified to local patrons who can pledge the tickets at prices discounted for early birds,
and if enough tickets are pledged – the tipping point, the event is on.
All pledges till then are charged as so are the new ticket sales here forth.
The organizer is released a set amount for the event. and the remaining after the event.
This application too sees a wide range in traffic loads due to the discounted pricing and time sensitivity of an event in general.
The application was built on MEAN stack and deployed on AWS Elastic beanstalk environment.
The frontend was developed as a standalone Single Page Application built on angular 1.x
The need was for an always on server rather than on event based or a schedule invoked serverless to ease the process of payment gateway integration and socket communication with the frontend.
Challenges in building this application wasn’t the complexity but rather the extent of the scope.. user management, verification, event verification, Admin payment charges and disbursement, payment transactions and transparency, notifications, reporting etc.
